Dr.Vadim Farian completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University in Toronto. While pursuing his degree he started working as a personal strength trainer and subsequent to graduation his career evolved in a health & fitness industry encompassing fitness consulting, personal training and rehabilitative therapy. He later attended New York Chiropractic College and graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractor.
From a young age Vadim had an interest in how the human body functions. Through years of education Dr. Farian has learned not only about the movement of the human body but also how it relates to him personally. He competed for York University’s Track & Field team, played semi-professional soccer in Canada and is an active participant in various running and triathlon events. His soccer career included earning a trial in Cologne, Germany.
By sustaining several injuries throughout the years, Vadim wanted to use the knowledge he gained through education to heal his own body and for his own fitness routine. He later developed a passion to help others succeed in their respective sports by getting them out of pain and through his training methodology. Dr. Farian believes in continuing education and always looks for innovative ways to help his patients/clients to achieve greatest results. He travels to many countries around the world to attend seminars and conferences and is available for public speaking lecturing and coaching.
Dr. Vadim Farian is in good standing with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and is an active member of the following organizations: Canadian Chiropractic Association, Ontario Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, National Strength & Conditioning Association.
A retired champion in competitive weightlifting, Abazar Habibinia is the founder and director of Canadian Academy of Sports Nutrition. Currently, he manages the academy and also teaches clinical sciences (neurology, biomechanics of back pain, pathology, and therapeutic exercises) at National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto.
Holding a diploma in Fitness and Nutrition, he is certified spinal decompression traction therapist as well and his expertise are sports nutrition, medicinal nutrition and bariatric nutrition.
Abazar Habibinia has been awarded two times as the best nutrition professor by Canadian Academy of Natural Health in 2011 and 2012. He was rewarded three times as the Best Sports Nutritionist by the former Extreme Fitness Company in 2007, 2009, and 2010. Abazar Habibinia has published nine books about sports nutrition, therapeutic exercises and sports supplementation.
Abazar was a professional weightlifter, competing for seven years from 1984 to 1991. As a sports nutrition advisor, he has attended many international sports events, including, but not limited to, World Freestyle Wrestling Championship in1998, World Soccer Cup in France in 1998, and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
As a sports nutrition specialist, Abazar Habibinia was the nominee to lead Brazil soccer team during World Soccer Cup, Brazil, 2014.
Dr. Jennifer MacDonald is a naturopathic doctor at Junction Health. Jennifer’s approach is to understand each patient’s health history and to create a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan. She is passionate about helping others optimize their health and teaches her patients the skills to find and live healthy lives. She has a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum care, fertility, women’s health, autoimmune conditions, thyroid concerns, and digestive health. All individuals, however, with health concerns are encouraged to visit her practice.
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Science double major in Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University. She obtained her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the leading naturopathic medical college in Canada, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario. While a student at CCNM she joined Naturopaths without Borders and travelled to Guatemala to treat patients in need. During her internship she treated low income patients at Parkdale Community Health Centre. She was also one of twelve students selected to establish a teaching clinic within the Brampton Civic Hospital which is the first naturopathic clinic within a hospital in North America. While maintaining her practice, she is also an educator at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) where she teaches Pathology, Cellular Biology, and Biochemistry & Chemistry. Jennifer keeps up to date with the latest research and has published several scientific papers in naturopathic journals.
She holds a license from the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is a member of both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Registered Massage Therapist
Vera has an extensive background in Alternative Medicine both as a Registered Massage Therapist and a Holistic Practitioner. She is a graduate of ICT Kikkawa College of Massage and the Canadian College ofHomeopathic Medicine, graduating with honors from both.
As a Registered Massage Therapist with 20 years of experience Vera has provided therapeutic care to patients of all kinds. She has taken specialized training in Trigger Point Therapy and Basic Lymphatic Drainage for the upper body and integrates these into treatments when appropriate.
Cynthia is a Registered Acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. She graduated from the Institute of Traditional Medicine (ITM) in Toronto with a Diploma of Acupuncture. Her clinical training included ITM’s Pain and Stress Clinic, Women’s Clinic, National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) training, the off-site PWA (Persons With AIDS) clinic in downtown Toronto, as well as an internship at a community acupuncture clinic.
Prior to studying acupuncture, Cynthia trained in Zen Shiatsu at Kokoro Do Jo (now Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine) and fell in love with the Japanese approach of diagnosis through palpation and the concept of strengthening the constitution to support the body’s healing process.
Cynthia is currently pursuing studies and clinical training in Japanese acupuncture, a style known for its smaller needles, gentle and shallow needling technique and its focus on Root (constitutional) treatments that address the core energetic and structural imbalances. Cynthia loves working to restore people’s life force energy and restore the balance between the elements for health in body and mind. She also enjoys educating people in preventative health practices that have been practiced in Asia for centuries. In her off hours, Cynthia enjoys meditation practice, being out in nature, crafts and volunteering in the community.
Registered Massage Therapist
Dr. Purdy has obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph, a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and a Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy. He has further certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University and holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) designation.
He utilizes a variety of techniques from his broad educational background and experience as both a Chiropractor and Registered Massage Therapist. He individualizes treatments to meet the goals of his patients with additional emphasis on patient education, exercise, and rehabilitation. Dr. Purdy is dedicated to furthering his knowledge as a life-long learner.
